Kuku 23
Cin Cin designed a constantly growing, customised website for the new quarter in the south-west of Vienna, which conveys the visionary architectural concept and presents the cultural and social programme.
The website grows with the neighbourhood
We had to make our web design “responsive” right from the start, in order to be able to react flexibly to any additions to the content in the course of this long-term project. We worked closely with the architectural office Dietrich | Untertrifaller under the direction of partner Maria Megina.
One year after the launch of the first version, which served to allocate the units in the Atelierhaus Ost, we added five more houses with their own subpages, including those of Schenker Salvi Weber, in order to visually explain their diverse typologies with floor plans. In addition, we presented various personas to give a better feel for the future neighbourhood.
Interactive configurator
We translated Dietrich | Untertrifaller's architectural concept of customisability into an interactive configurator that offered future users flexible choices in designing their studios. The innovative planning allowed for this participatory approach.
We published this first version of the website before construction began in spring 2020, when the units in Atelierhaus Ost were offered to future residents. Within 24 hours of the launch, all available studios were reserved.
The website as a central platform
Kuku 23, in the immediate vicinity of the former Sargfabrik and the Atzgersdorf education campus, is a great example of forward-looking urban planning. At the beginning of 2022, we added more content to the website, focusing on the cultural spaces scattered around the neighbourhood: studios, art workshops and a music school.
In addition, the website is also used as a communication tool, with its own newsletter and calendar of events. The sociologists of Realitylab will accompany the development process of the neighbourhood in the coming years and give residents ample opportunity for virtual and real interaction before they actually move in.
THE WEBSITE IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE THE MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THOSE WHO WILL LIVE, LEARN AND WORK THERE.
